A Wave Alternative That Works in Any Country

Why people look for a Wave alternative

• Outside the US and Canada, Wave no longer sends invoices or reminders by email. You can only share a PDF or a link yourself, and online payments and the Pro plan are unavailable.
• Features that used to be free have moved to Pro since 2024, including automatic bank connections. In June 2026, older free accounts lost their bank connections and extra collaborators.
• Card payments cost 2.9% + $0.60 per transaction on the free plan.

What you give up

Simple Invoice Generator does one job: creating, sending and tracking invoices. Before switching, know that it does not have:

• Card payments on the invoice. Clients pay you directly, by bank transfer, PayPal or however you ask, and you mark the invoice paid.
• Recurring invoices. You can duplicate last month's invoice in one click, but nothing is sent on a schedule.
• Accounting. No expenses, time tracking, bank feeds or reports beyond a monthly revenue chart.
• A mobile app, team accounts or an import tool. It runs in any browser, including on your phone, for one user.

Moving over from Wave

1. Keep your past invoices in Wave, or download them as PDFs for your records.
2. Open the editor and fill in your first invoice. No sign-up is needed to try it.
3. Type your next invoice number (for example INV-0143) so your numbering carries on, and set your usual currency, notes and payment terms.
4. Create a free account to save it and email it to your client with the PDF attached. Your company details, logo, notes and terms fill in automatically from then on.
5. Save each client the first time you invoice them, and they fill in with one click next time.

Frequently asked questions

Can I still use Wave outside the US and Canada?

You can create invoices, but Wave no longer lets you send invoices or reminders by email outside the US and Canada. You have to share a PDF or link yourself, and online payments and Wave Pro are not available there.

Is Simple Invoice Generator free like Wave?

Only partly. Your first 3 invoices are free with no card. After that, Pro is $9/month or $79/year for unlimited invoices and automatic reminders. Wave Starter stays free, with its own limits.

Does Simple Invoice Generator do bookkeeping?

No. It creates, sends and tracks invoices. If you need bookkeeping, use accounting software alongside it, or Wave if you are in the US or Canada.
